Agile Energy X, a subsidiary of TEPCO Power Grid, begins storing renewable energy in bitcoin

Surplus renewable energy is a challenge, and most people say it can be stored in grid storage batteries or as hydrogen.

However, TEPCO Power Grid believes it makes much more sense to store it using any existing storage in cyber-physical space, such as hot water storage in heat pump water heaters, storage in electric vehicles and other electric mobility, bitcoin wallets, and the wisdom of artificial intelligence.

Our subsidiary Agile Energy X has already started storing renewable electricity as bitcoin. We aim to quickly establish a solution that contributes to curbing the increase in the number of grid facilities by alleviating grid congestion caused by the increase in grid interconnection of renewable energy sources.
