Land requirements are often overlooked in the discussion of green energy technologies. But Solar PV panels and wind turbines require significantly more land than coal mining or nuclear generation.

In today’s show, Dr. Johnson, our host, will discuss the land use requirements for all types of electricity generation. This show will include estimates about the land requirements to replace coal plants with renewable energy. It will also highlight pushback from communities who embrace “clean energy,” just “Not In My Back Yard” (NIMBY).
