Is solar energy regulated or deregulated?
A discussion that seems to be gaining strength in our (Brazilian) Judiciary is about the modelling currently offered by the market for regulated consumers BUT which is dressed (disguised) as deregulated.
Let me explain. The regulated consumer enters into a contract with a solar energy supplier, for example through a subscription. For a price freely negotiated between the parties, without regulatory interference.
And the client, contractor will have the “accounting” system associated with the local utility company.
The question is in fact a typical deregulated market operation.
The subject is important because we need clarity. What is regulated and what is deregulated? That simple! Or what?
