Energy consultant challenge
It is easy to imagine that companies and institutions have a legitimate interest in identifying and capturing opportunities to achieve and maintain top performance in the energy field.
As energy – typically – is not the client’s core business, the prevailing tendency of those who want to “get there” is to hire a consultant.
This is where an inevitable conflict arises between the “client’s internal public” and the consultant, as no one likes to discover solutions that have the potential – in the imagination of these managers and technicians – of “undressing” opportunities that “they would have missed”.
Of course, this logic is perverse because energy is a complex and very specific area, and there is no way for the customer to be aware of “everything”.
Those who have the detachment and greatness to “overcome” these challenges have the chance to reach higher heights. And this is what really matters. Or at least should!
