CHP said three vehicles were involved, and statements were obtained on scene and stating that the Acura executed an unsafe lane change to the left from the number three lane, which impacted the right front of the Corvette.
However, before the original crash, the driver of the Corvette moved to his left and stopped within the number one lane. The truck that was driving in the eastbound lane on the number one lane did not have enough time to stop before hitting the vehicle.
The driver of the Corvette was taken to the hospital, where, at around 10:50 a.m., he died from his injuries, CHP said.
