VEIC, a national clean energy nonprofit, published its 2024 impact report today spotlighting the far-reaching benefits of implementing energy-saving and electrification solutions at scale. The report includes data from the nonprofit’s growing impact, which has surpassed 115 million metric tons of CO2e and $5.6 billion in lifetime customer savings since 2000. It also features case studies and thought leadership stories that showcase how clean energy initiatives across the country lower energy costs, improve public health, and make the communities they serve more resilient to climate change.
The organization aims to amplify and share clean energy solutions that have proven successful to help similar programs nationwide scale their initiatives to better address the rising affordability challenges facing families and businesses.
“When we collaborate and scale what’s working, we can bring the benefits of clean energy even further,” shared VEIC’s CEO Rebecca Foster. “Everyone deserves affordable energy bills, cleaner air, and a more resilient future.”
In 2024 alone, VEIC’s work:
- Avoided 1,771,498 metric tons of CO2e
- Delivered $62,815,433 in customer incentives
- Installed upgrades that will save customers over $387 million
- Engaged 1,665 trade partners in communities it serves
Nearly 60% of VEIC’s impact in 2024 occurred in communities comprised of underserved groups, renters, or low- to moderate-income households with high energy burdens.
The report also looks ahead toward the key clean energy trends, challenges, projects, and innovations that will continue to shape the industry in 2025, such as lifecycle refrigerant management and Solar for All.
