LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man killed in a deadly shooting Friday at a Las Vegas gym was identified as an employee, according to a social media post.
Edgar Quinonez, who had worked at the Las Vegas Athletic Club (LVAC) for 15 years, was fatally shot Friday afternoon, according to the post.

The shooting happened just after 1:30 p.m. at the LVAC on North Rainbow Boulevard near Lake Mead Boulevard.

The LVAC post described Quinonez as more than just an employee.
“In that time he became so much more than a colleague. He was a source of kindness, dedication and positivity. His presence touched the lives of so many members and teammates, and his impact will never be forgotten,” the post said.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said officers shot the unidentified gunman, who was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Three additional people were taken to a local hospital. One of the victims was last listed in critical condition, while two suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
As of Friday evening, investigators had not determined a motive, according to LVMPD Lt. Jason Boveda.

LVAC released a statement after the shooting: “We are heartbroken by the tragedy that occurred at our Northwest club. Our prayers are with the victims, their families, our members and our team. The club is temporarily closed as we support the LVMPD investigation. We will share updates as we have them.”
