Top Reasons it’s Hard to Hire Solar Workers

The Interstate Renewable Energy Council has published its 14^th annual National Solar Census 2023. The survey tracks solar and storage industry employment by state.

It should be noted that there is nothing particularly scientific about the survey. It polls industry players to gauge the issues that they are encountering. However, many of the issues are not macro industry-related, but specific to the companies surveyed.

This is not unusual in an emerging market. One characteristic of an emerging market is that in the early stages it is populated by lots of small companies, many of which aren’t particularly well run. As an industry matures, these companies invariably fall by the wayside, while others get gobbled up by bigger players.
