Solar energy: regulated or deregulated?
This question comes from “institutional” doubts. I present two of them for illustration purposes.
1. The surplus energy (exported to the grid by panels installed on rooftops – “net metering”) is credited based on regulated rates and not on the spot of the month.
In other words, it is considered regulated.
2. Is the energy subscriber (company or institution) who contracts from a solar farm for a negotiated price regulated or deregulated?
In this Brazilian model, all those who do not have solar energy (rooftop or farm) pay subsidies so that those who do can obtain special benefits.
