Summer is winding down and many are enjoying vacation time prior to the beginning of the new school year. And it’s Monday – not a time for heavy topics but something exciting and a bit educational.
Despite starting my cleantech career in solar, I’m far from its biggest fan. Call me silly, but technology that’s only 25% efficient and only works half the time doesn’t get my juices flowing. I understand the value of solar today, but question its sustainability as more efficient technologies emerge.
Where solar make sense is on rooftops where no other options exist. Along those lines, what if we could expand solar to other structures and surfaces? Now that’s technology worth getting behind. And it is precisely what researchers at Oxford University hope to deliver.
Check out the presentation to see what advancements in solar technology scientists have made.
