LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A local woman is accused of stealing a Rolex watch and gold necklace from a guest at a popular hotel on the Las Vegas Strip after the two met and went to the man’s room for sex.
According to the arrest report, the crime took place at the Bellagio Las Vegas hotel on July 26, 2022, but Maiah Meleschi was not arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center until July 3, 2024, after a warrant had been issued for her arrest.
The victim, who was visiting Las Vegas, told police he was playing Blackjack in the casino around 5 a.m. when he was approached by the woman who he took to his room for a prostitution-related date and paid her $1,000, court documents said.
The man told police he fell asleep and when he awoke around noon the following day he noticed his $85,000 Rolex, a $30,000 gold necklace, and $3,000 in cash were missing from his room.
Police reviewed the surveillance video and saw evidence of the two meeting in the casino and walking to the hotel elevators. They also saw a video of Meleschi leaving the casino wearing a large gold chain and a watch, the report stated.
Court records show Meleschi has prior arrests for prostitution and trespassing. Police said they were able to locate the pawn shop where Meleschi allegedly sold the necklace for $11,600. There was no mention in the arrest report of the watch or cash being located.
She is charged with the following:
