LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A North Las Vegas man is facing charges in North Carolina for a homicide that occurred 14 years ago.
Christopher Wilson, 58, is currently being held at the North Las Vegas Detention and Corrections Facility after he was taken into custody on May 30, 2024. Wilson is accused of stabbing to death Dwight Adair Smith on Jan. 11, 2010, in Winston-Salem. It was the city’s first homicide of the year.
The cold case murder was reopened after North Carolina detectives received some new information. Those detectives worked alongside North Las Vegas police to make the arrest.
Wilson awaits extradition to North Carolina.
