Farmers can now earn a passive income from Renewable Solar Energy guaranteed for up to 15 Years.
15 Year Green energy income available to farmers, SME’s and community groups under the new government announcement will provide a guaranteed income and opportunity to build up to 6MW Solar farms.
The Small-Scale Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (SSRESS) will allow farmers and other organisations to earn a passive income from Solar Energy based on small solar farms of between 50KW to 6MW in size.
The rates that can be earned are slightly different and higher for community groups than farmers and SME’s, none the less to help meet Ireland’s carbon reduction target by 2030 this will provide an extraordinary opportunity to earn a high yield revenue from natural Solar Energy
Group System Size Revenue Earned per KW/Hour
Farm and SME’S 50KW – 1MW €0.13c Per KW/H
Farm and SME’S 1MW – 6MW €0.12c Per KW/H
Community Projects 50KW – 1MW €0.15c Per KW/H
Community Projects 1MW – 6MW €0.14c Per KW/H
A PPA Agreement or Power Purchase Agreement will have to be in place to avail of this scheme and this will not affect any other grants available such as TAMS for farmers etc – but will be treated as a different and totally separate scheme.
Final announcements will be announced in July. Full planning permission and grid connection will be required in advance of approval.
Solarsure are delighted to support our customers in designing, installing, and managing such projects.
