Brazil (energy): stubborn loser
Our matrix is essentially renewable and the cost of investments in generation, transmission and distribution are super competitive.
The problem that makes our electrical energy the most expensive among the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) are the indirect costs that include:
* Power theft
* Power (crony) projects to serve “friends”
* Lack of implemented demand response programs,
* Subsidies no longer necessary,
* etc., etc.
