Cost merit in the Brazilian electricity sector?
If there is an established perception among companies and institutions that achieve and maintain the competitiveness of their activities, it is to base their decisions on the merit of costs.
Of course, obviously!
In our electrical sector, however, this is not the case! We have a list of projects that do not meet the cost merit criterion.
We all know those “tortoises” that were and still are built to serve the interests of the groups that actually rule the electricity sector. In order to turn around this awful situation and leave the laggard position in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) ranking, of costs in $/kWh, we need to move – and urgently – towards cost meritocracy, leaving behind the system that has been in place for decades, of patronage .
Do we have the courage, detachment, determination and commitment to make it happen or will we continue as a third world country also in terms of energy?
