“Two attack vectors targeting the offshore VSC voltage magnitude and frequency controls are then designed, exploiting the fast response of the VSC-HVDC to destabilize the OWF by exhausting system damping capability. The experiments indicate that well-tuned attack vectors can effectively destabilize the OWF, and inflicted oscillation may propagate into the main grid despite the common assumption that VSC-HVDC-connected OWFs are decoupled from the main AC grid“
