Refunds on horizon for Colorado solar customers facing utility delays, after thousands waited months to connect to the power grid this year

Last summer, California lawmakers contending with an interconnection crisis sought to advance bills designed to speed up grid connections.  After long connection delays, Colorado solar customers will be refunded by Xcel Energy.  Understaffed, the utility fell behind on meter installations.  Now, Xcel is back on track and customers can expect to have upgraded meters installed within 20-30 days.  However, meters aren’t the only area in need of an upgrade.  Colorado’s aged grid has also slowed connections.  How long will it take to roll out much needed upgrades to support waves of consumers ready to switch to clean power?
