In a recent report (“2023 ERO Reliability Risk Priorities Report”), the North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC) has added an new risk profile for grid reliability – energy policy. Uninformed and uncoordinated energy policy decisions regarding decarbonization and electrification are some of the driving factors of grid transformation
“There is an undeniable need to increase coordination and collaboration among all policy makers and regulators as well as on the owners and operators of the bulk power system”.
