LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The widow of a pastor killed amid escalating tensions with his neighbor is suing the homeowner’s association and the property management company two years after her husband’s death.
Joe Junio, 38, faces charges of open murder with a deadly weapon for the Dec. 29, 2023, killing of 46-year-old Nick Davi. The shooting happened inside the Court at Aliante community in North Las Vegas.
Sarah Davi, Nick Davi’s wife, was wounded in the shooting, according to a wrongful death lawsuit filed in 2024. Davi’s recent lawsuit was filed against the Court at Aliante and FirstService Nevada, documents said.

Junio and the Davi family were neighbors and, in the weeks, before the shooting, Junio exhibited “escalating threatening behavior” after the family reported her to the HOA for violations related to chickens and dogs, a police report said.
On the day of the shooting, the family was getting into their car to leave for the evening when they saw Junio drive past and look at them. Junio then parked next to them and rolled down her window. At that point, one of the victims’ children started recording on her phone, documents said.
One family member asked Junio, “Why don’t you leave us alone? We’ve had enough.” Junio continued to stare at the family, and Nick Davi asked, “What’s your problem with us?” and took a couple of steps toward the car.
Junio then got out of her car and started to shoot toward the family, hitting Nick Davi and Sarah Davi, police said. One of the victims fought over the gun with Junio before she ran away to her apartment.

According to Davi’s most recent lawsuit, she or her husband had complained to management and Junio, “including concerns regarding ongoing association disputes and escalating hostility.”

The lawsuit alleges the homeowners association and the property management company failed to de-escalate the neighborhood issues and “were aware of prior incidents, disputes, and/or communications involving Joe that indicated or should have indicated she posed an unreasonable risk of harm to her neighbors.”
Junio’s trial was scheduled to begin in May. A trial in the wrongful death lawsuit was scheduled for July. A court date for the newly filed lawsuit was not scheduled as of Friday.
Junio remained in custody at the Clark County Detention Center. Davi was a pastor at Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas. He moved to North Las Vegas in 2005 after leaving the South after Hurricane Katrina, documents said.
