LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A family is asking for the community’s help after their home was burglarized and the thief stole $70,000 worth of designer pieces.
“Everything felt so unreal,” one family member said. “You know?”
A brazen crime was caught on camera in the southwest valley in November; a man broke into a home with a mask, sunglasses and gloves.
He was later seen on video leaving with a bag of items valued around $70,000, according to the owners.

“When I looked through the camera, we saw this tall dude,” a family member told 8 News Now. “And he seemed to know where the cameras were.”

Neither person wanted to share their identity for safety reasons, but they believe they were targeted.
The thief knew where to find a Birkin bag, a Rolex watch and over a dozen other designer pieces in the closet, according to the family.
“My mom, she lost this Rolex she’s been keeping for like 20 years,” one person said. “And she just felt so sad when she lost it.”
The crime also happened right after dusk, they said, when both were still out of the house.
Both came home to doors and windows shattered and the closet ransacked.
“The neighborhood is really safe,” they said. “So I’m not sure why we were targeted.”

The family filed a police report, but officers haven’t made any arrests and their things are still missing.
They hope by sharing their story, they can find someone who might know something so they can track down their prized possessions they didn’t expect.
“Please help find this suspect, because um it’s just a very unfortunate thing that happens to us,” one family member said. “And we never wish this upon anyone.”
“Hopefully, we can find the culprit,” another family member added. “And she just wants her stuff back.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call Las Vegas Metropolitan Police at 702-828-3111.
