Ukraine has resumed gas imports from a pipeline that runs across the Balkan peninsula to Greece to secure winter supplies after Russia stepped up strikes on power generation, electricity and gas production facilities in the fourth year of its war on Ukraine.Sunday’s deal comes after Athens this month clinched its first long-term deal to supply U.S. LNG to Europe starting in 2030 after the European Union approved a ban on Russian LNG from 2027 over its war in Ukraine.
