A boil water notice was issued for residents of Cambria after a water outage occurred Friday.
The notice was affecting households in the area west of Highway 1 and south of Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, as well as east of Highway 1 in the area surrounding Cambria Pines Lodge, according to maps included in a news release sent by the Cambria Community Services District.
Downtown Cambria appeared largely unaffected by the notice, the maps showed.
A boil water notice was issued for areas of Cambria on Sept. 12, 2025. The affected areas were indicated in red on the map, while the blue areas were unaffected.
Households and businesses in the affected area were advised to use only boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking or cooking purposes as a precaution to avoid illness, the release said.

Safe drinking water was to be available at the Cambria Veteran’s Memorial Hall, located at 1000 Main St., until around 1:30 p.m. Friday, the release said.
Residents were told they would be notified when the water was safe to drink again. The release said the issue was anticipated to be resolved in around 48 hours.
Cambria’s boil water notice was the second to hit SLO County communities this week.
On Wednesday, SLO issued a boil water notice for around 100 households. That advisory was canceled Friday morning.

“As a result, the tank eventually emptied, leading to a loss of water system pressure,” the release said.
Cambria residents began noticing low water pressure early Friday morning.
The Community Services District said officials immediately responded to the system failure, working to refill the tank and re-pressurize the system.
The boil water notice was issued as a precautionary measure in response to the equipment failure.
