Jim Whittle, Sr Product Management Specialist, AspenTech
Jim Whittle is a Senior Product Management Specialist for the Cimphony suite of products within AspenTech Digital Grid Management. Jim joined AspenTech from Open Grid Systems, following the acquisition of OGS last November, where he was a Solutions Engineer and Product Owner for Cimphony. Jim has worked on various projects encompassing network model management and public facing applications, with clients in the US, Europe and UK. Previously, Jim was at Strathclyde University, researching topics such as electrical distribution markets and AI and machine learning applications for the power grid. He holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy and a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Glasgow.

Tyler Friedel, Product Owner, Ameren
Tyler Friedel is the Technical Product Owner for Ameren’s Digital Grid of the Future. His responsibilities include project leadership of Ameren’s Grid Network Model Management and Dynamic Hosting Capacity projects, in addition to digital ownership over the Synergi Electric distribution modeling software. Tyler joined Ameren as a distribution planning engineer for Ameren’s Illinois business line in 2019, and stepped into his current role in 2023. He holds an MBA and a B.S in Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Mike Daniels, Director of Digital Grid of the Future and Analytics, Ameren
Mike Daniels is the Director of Digital Grid of the Future and Analytics at Ameren. He oversees the GIS, Grid Analytics, Grid Network Model Management, and Distributed Energy Resources digital teams. Mike has over 30 years of experience in the industry, primarily with Schneider Electric, where he led R&D and product management teams focused on GIS, ADMS, and AMI. Mike also served as a Captain in the United States Air Force and worked for National Grid. He holds an MBA and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University.
