LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A winter storm will bring rain and strong wind gusts to the Las Vegas valley Thursday.
Rain was falling Thursday morning in Pahrump, and snow was reported at Lee Canyon and in the Spring Mountains. The cooler wet weather is from a winter storm hammering Southern California and causing thousands of people to be evacuated.

Highs will stay cool, just reaching the 50s, with northerly breezes to make it feel even chillier. Temperatures warm back to 60s and low 70s this weekend,” according to 8 News Now Weather Anchor Sherry Swensk.
On Thursday night there will be a total eclipse. Valley residents have about a 50 percent chance of valley skies being clear enough to get a view of the darkened moon by midnight or before.
