LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Las Vegas says they have found the source of a water leak plaguing the area for several days but are keeping a boil order active for the time being. The city says the location of the leak was discovered earlier Saturday, saying it took time for it to be visible above ground.

Officials say water pressure has been extremely low for the last few days. Residents in the city and surrounding area are being asked to boil water before consuming as well as pleading with residents and businesses experiencing low-pressure or complete water outages to shut off all water heaters and boilers as soon as possible. This is due to the possibility that changing water pressure from the water being transferred to the Luna Reservoir could result in sediment buildup and might cause damage. They are also asking the public to conserve water.
