Volatility: the name of the game (energy)
With the growing participation of solar and wind power in the Brazilian energy matrix, a new component has emerged: volatility.
The central theme is the incidence – or lack thereof – of wind and sun over time. In Brazil, the preference has always been to pass on – without ceremony – the associated costs to all consumers.
In leading countries, this volatility is tending towards a new and very creative outcome. The consumer of these non-firm energies must contract “management and control of these risks” so that they become “palatable”.
This stance, much more proactive and focused on efficiency, should also be “embraced” by Brazil. It should!
