LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One person is dead following what police are calling a possible “road rage incident between two vehicles” in the west valley.
A person called police around 11:45 p.m. Sunday to report they were taking their friend, a passenger who had been shot, to University Medical Center, police said.
The shooting victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan police, the person who drove to the hospital told police they were traveling southbound on S. Jones. Boulevard and got into a verbal dispute with the driver of a dark-colored truck and then shots were fired and the passenger was struck. The suspect vehicle fled southbound on Jones.

The shooting occurred on Jones between Charleston Boulevard and Alta Drive. Streets in the area were closed to traffic while the police investigated. The roads reopened around 5 a.m.
