Every week, I host ‘The KJ Show,’ which offers a mix of breaking news and practical advice on how the energy industry affects the consumer. During this fast-paced show, I combine weekly energy updates with conversations with leaders in the energy efficiency community.
After each show, I’ll share it here with the Energy Central Community in case you were unable to join me live.
The KJ Show #110 – Energy & The Election: Now What?
The election is over, and the results have sent shockwaves across the country, with 50% pleased and 50% devastated. Energy pundits disagree about how the next Trump administration will affect current energy policies. Even though Trump appears to have a mandate to govern, it may not be easy to unwind some of Biden’s energy policies, like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
On this episode, Dr. Katherine Johnson provides a balanced view of how the election results are likely to affect energy policy in the next four years. And while it will be interesting to watch, the long-term effects of many renewable energy policies will probably be a slowdown, but not a complete shutdown.
