LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman was stabbed several times while sitting at a casino slot machine — and police later located the weapon in lost and found, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.
Police arrested Elonda Alexander, 38, shortly after the incident at the Aztec Inn on July 8. Police said Alexander confessed to the stabbing while in custody.
Alexander allegedly stabbed a woman she knew in the back several times while the victim was sitting at a slot machine, documents said. The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital.
The victim told police that Alexander allegedly became upset with her after “hanging out all day smoking meth together,” documents said. Alexander, the victim and another man then went to the casino when Alexander allegedly stabbed the victim, saying “[Expletive], I hope you die.”
Video surveillance recorded the stabbing, Alexander throwing the knife and then leaving, police said.
An employee later picked up the knife and put it in lost and found. A crime scene detective found the knife in the lost and found, police said.
Alexander remained in custody Wednesday on $20,000 bail on charges of battery with the use of a deadly weapon and another weapon-related charge, records said.
A representative from the property could not be reached Wednesday.
