Hydrogen Core Network Application | Germany
The core grid will gradually connect central consumption and generation hotspots as well as storage and import centres with each other by 2032.
Key data of the core network:
Length: 9,666 km, of which around 60 % are to be repurposed
Investment costs: 19.7 billion euros
Output volume: 278 TWh/y
BNetzA now has two months to review and approve the application, including a consultation period that will take place until 06/08/2024.
After approval by the BNetzA, the construction of the core network will begin. The first lines are to be converted to H2 in 2025.
