Energy chief warns: U.S. AI race at risk without natural gas boost

Data center energy use has already been discussed in depth, and with the rapid development of artificial intelligence and data centers being developed solely to support AI, firm natural gas supply will be critical, and not just for the data centers, but for the entire natural gas demand-side. We’re seeing data center development come closer and closer in proximity to major pipelines to ensure that firm supply in dedicated power plants that are part of, or adjacent to, the data centers. Next up- CO2 pipelines to carry the captured CO2 from these power plants to a CO2 end user or sequestration well.
