As long as we keep in mind that although hydrogen is useful (directly) as a fuel, it is mostly useful as a feedstock for making other chemicals including other fuels. These include synthetic aviation fuel, e-methanol, ammonia, and probably a renewable fuel that will be a direct replacement for gasoline in the future. Like gasoline is today the latter will be a blended fuel with several major components, including e-methanol.
