Energy diagnosis – the discovery
Normally when there is a request for a diagnosis, the called providers will focus on their interests.
If you are a solar system supplier, for example, you will check where the panels can be installed, how to interconnect with the customer’s existing electric grid, the production capacity, and, of course, the proposed price, terms and conditions.
Each supplier will seek to model their solutions so that it has a chance of selling. It is legitimate because, as a rule, it will only be paid if the client contracts the solution being proposed.
A consultant has a fascinating and much broader role. Discover the potential (1) technical, (2) financial, (3) legal and (4) management solutions that perfectly fit the client’s interests and conveniences. In an “agnostic” way, that is, without leaning towards this or that solution, much less towards this or that supplier.
A consultant has the potential to discover solutions that are “outside the box” and have an exceptional benefit-to-cost ratio. And the great advantage of an independent consultant is precisely to follow the path of discovery, share it with the client and together find the appropriate solutions. This applies to the contracting of energy sources and their use.
