A recurring theme that has been raised – especially on international energy portals – is the partial or even total destruction of solar and wind systems due to natural phenomena.

In Brazil the situation also occurs. On the north coast of São Paulo, for example, due to torrential rains in recent years, photovoltaic systems were destroyed. 

In the United States, on a recurring basis, there are reports of broken wind turbine blades caused by windstorms and tornadoes. And also photovoltaic systems. 

And what lesson should we learn from these facts?

Prudence is the best answer. When planning these systems, include taking out insurance that covers the consequences of these phenomena.
