Hydrogen Ports | Wilhelmshaven Electrolyser and Terminal
The Green Wilhelmshaven projects have been recognised by the EU for their contribution to Europe’s energy infrastructure!
Wilhelmshaven Electrolyser and Terminal have been deemed by the European Commission as Projects of Common Interest.
The status is given to projects that contribute to the key objective of realising a climate-neutral European Union by the year 2050.
Green Wilhelmshaven Electrolyser project, boasting an electrolyser capacity of up to 1 GW, leverages the region’s renewable energy resources to bolster domestic green hydrogen production.
Green Wilhelmshaven Terminal project facilitates the importation of renewable ammonia via maritime transport and enables the extensive conversion and integration of hydrogen into the European hydrogen network.
These projects are making an important contribution to strengthening the region’s role as an energy hub for the future and helping to achieve Germany’s climate targets.
COO Holger Kreetz: “With this significant recognition from the EU, we are poised to drive transformation not just for Uniper, but for our customers and the industry as a whole.”
