Brookfield Asset Management, together with Brookfield Renewable and Microsoft announced the signing of a global renewable energy framework agreement to contribute to Microsoft’s goal of having 100% of its electricity consumption by the end of the decade. The agreement provides a pathway for Brookfield to deliver 10.5 GW of wind and solar capacity between 2026 and 2030 in the U.S. and Europe, with the potential to expand into Asia-Pacific, India, and Latin America. According to an associated story by Reuters, “The deal underscores the race to meet clean energy commitments while satisfying the voracious energy demand of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.”
