2024: what to expect from the Brazilian electricity sector?

Objectively, the electricity sector is trapped in two main challenges that its leaders created systemically, for decades on end.

Each of them is worth around a 13% impact on tariffs: Subsidies and power theft.

We are talking about an aggregate total of USD 12 Billion/year.

If the interest is to change this sad scenario, which has left Brazil in last place in the ranking of power costs among the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) our leaders should have the courage, detachment and even the honesty of facing the challenge.

And the question that remains for 2024: will our leaders have these characteristics?
