I’m curious how the Energy Central Community feels about this effort in Maine, and a growing interest elsewhere, toward shifting electrical power from investor-owned utilities to publicly-owned utilities. Of course, the effort in Maine failed after the utilities outspent the advocates $40 million to $300,000. I would love to know whether this community sees problems in shifting from private to public in itself, or if the Maine effort was specifically riddled with issues that could be addressed in future referendums.
