Every week, I host ‘The KJ Show,’ which offers a mix of breaking news and practical advice on how the energy industry affects the consumer. During this fast-paced show, I combine weekly energy updates with conversations with leaders in the energy efficiency community.
After each show, I’ll share it here with the Energy Central Community in case you were unable to join me live.
The KJ Show #64 – Climate Change Policies—Not So Fast!
The global backlash to climate change policies pushing for net zero emissions has begun. Both politicians and taxpayers are starting to realize that the cost of transforming the global economy will be far more massive, and expensive than previously thought.
Citizens are starting to push back on subsidies for renewable energy technologies as they face rising home heating costs and growing energy insecurity. Politicians, feeling the heat, are starting to extend net zero deadlines while reducing or eliminating subsidiaries for offshore wind farms.
Some, like taxing emissions on cows, seem silly, but have serious consequences as this tactic led to a major political shift in New Zealand.
On this episode Dr. Katherine Johnson will discuss the ways in which citizens across the globe are telling their elected leaders to rethink their net zero aspirations.
