What is the primary source of power in each African country?
This is an informative infographic produced by Cody Good, Director of social media at Calgary, Canada based, ENERGYminute. Electricity production in Africa is about one-fifth the amount generated annually in the United States. Natural gas accounts for roughly 42% of total annual generation, with coal and hydro at about 30% and 18% respectively. The continent is home to about 600 million people currently without access to electricity — that is roughly 77% of the global population without access to electricity. Bringing plentiful affordable electricity to the continent would vastly enhance the lives of multitudes of people. Let’s do what we can to make that happen.
