On September 12, 2023, the 22 young innovators and entrepreneurs selected from all around the world to participate in the IRENA NewGen Renewable Energy Accelerator (NewGen) have started a four-month online training program.
The program will provide the participants technical expertise and skills to enable them to launch, implement, and scale their business plan in the energy transition and climate action sectors. The NewGen project aims indeed to accelerate the development of youth-led start-ups and enterprises in the renewable energy and related sectors by providing young participants with the tools and knowledge to bring their ideas to market.
Enel Foundation, as a proud knowledge partner of IRENA in the NewGen initiative together with Social Alpha, contributed to design the training programme curriculum and will empower participants through dedicated training, mentorship and coaching. In addition, Enel Foundation will work closely with IRENA to create business networking and investment matching opportunities to help participating start-ups access funding and other resources.
The team of Enel Foundation, will meet the young innovators and entrepreneurs during the various sessions of the training program starting from the three-day “Kick-off bootcamp” program where they will explore topics such as cutting-edge clean energy technologies and business trends in order to build a strong and cohesive foundation and thus move on to a more in-depth and structured training. The curriculum will then unfold by covering the major key topics for launching an innovative start-up in the climate and sustainable energy sector: Business Model Development, Climate Impact Forecast, Customer Traction, Financial Management, Social Impact Assessment & Climate Impact Validation, Investment Readiness.
