A waste energy trigeneration power system is being trialled in the US as part of the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator programme.
The E3 unit from Entrade can convert more than 100 different waste fuels into electricity, heating and cooling.
Billed as the world’s smallest such system running on solid biofuels, the system includes a gasification module. The containerised modular system produces 30 kWe and either 60 kWth or 30 kW of cooling capacity.
A demonstration unit has been installed at the LA Kretz Innovation Centre.
Mass production of the system is anticipated to commence in 2016 with the units expected to retail for around $200,000.
